Critical infrastructure has received special attention in recent changes to national investment policies in some countries. Many countries have national plans or strategies for protecting critical infrastructure. All governments adopt a risk management approach to critical infrastructure protection. Risk management helps governments to identify key security assets, assess risks and establishes strategies and priorities for mitigating these risks. Many western countries have implemented measures to strengthen their prevention, preparedness and response to attacks on critical infrastructure. Panel Discussion: The Current Generation of Botnets – Malicious Threats
A new class of cyber attack is threatening PCs - emails which infect PCs without the user having to open an attachment. The mails themselves are not infected - and thus will not 'set off' many web-security defence packages. Previous generation threats were often a form of vandalism. The current generation of threats is not the work of kids but of serious professionals / organisations. None of them want their malware to be found and they go to great lengths to conceal their existence. Panel Moderator: Burgess Cooper : CISO, Vodafone India Panelsists: Raja Vijay Kumar Adapa : VP & Global Information Security Leader, Genpact Pazhamalai Jayaraman : CISO & GM IRMC, Wipro Limited Subrahmanya Gupta Boda: GM - IT Security & Governance (CISO), GMR Group |

Partner Company Presentation: Securing the Cloud Ecosystem: Risk Management of the Future
Cloud computing has seen tremendous adoption over the past few years. With this proliferation of cloud usage, it is only natural to worry about the Security or Compliance associated with your current cloud usage or intended move to the Cloud. It is simply not enough to concentrate purely on securing a device: a particular computer, a specific handset, an individual appliance. The goal of modern computer security is to protect information, and to give that information adequate and consistent protection no matter where it is. |

Panel: Continuous Threat Monitoring: Collate, Correlate & Investigate
Threat monitoring is continuous analysis, assessment, and review of security related data collected from all sources for detecting any attempted or successful breach of the security of a facility, operation, or system. In its purest sense, continuous monitoring is inwardly focused on activities such as vulnerability assessment and patch management, providing valuable situational awareness of systems and potential vulnerabilities. However, monitoring is nothing without the ability to respond accurately and in a timely manner. Moderator: K K Mookhey : Founder, Network Intelligence India Panelist: Zia Saquib, Dr – Executive Director, CDAC Mumbai & E-City Bengaluru Dinesh Pillai: CEO, Mahindra SSG |

Presentation: Identifying Critical Infrastructure Sectors and their Dependencies
Speaker: M.P.Gupta, Prof : Prof. & Chair-Informations Systems & E-gov, Dept of Management Studies, IIT Delhi Partner Company Presentation: Thwarting the Next Gen Cyber Attacks with DNS Firewalls With today’s threats, the traditional firewall is not the silver bullet to secure an enterprise. In fact, just the opposite: it typically leaves a huge pathway into your enterprise completely unprotected. And that pathway, which is populated by unfettered domain name system (DNS) information, has become a conduit of choice for cyber criminals looking to infiltrate your network. Secure DNS resolvers function as a firewall for DNS, adding a vital layer of defense to combat the deluge of advanced persistent threats (APT) and other malware that circumvent traditional perimeter defenses. |
