How can Blockchain Drive Indonesia's Economy
Speaker: Dr Edi Prio Pambudi - Assistant to Deputy Minister (Director) on Monetary and Balance of Payment,
Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs
About Session: Blockchain startups could bolster Indonesia's position as a rising regional blockchain hub. Indonesia's rapid progress, market size and drive towards better economy can be gained from the speedy adoption of blockchain in various industries. New technologies also enable exciting innovations in governance and the provision of public services, which will be essential to ensure that development initiatives and economic growth are inclusive.
Overview of Indonesia's Crypto Regulation
Speaker: Dharmayugo Hermansyah - Head of Center for Domestic Trade Studies, Trade Assessment & Development Agency,
Ministry of Trade
About Session: Indonesia’s Futures Exchange Supervisory Board (Bappebti) has announced new regulations on the implementation of physical markets for crypto assets in futures trading. The rules focus on good governance for cryptocurrency tradèrs, legal certainty and consumer protection. They will also require the regulator to establish a physical market for futures trading in virtual currencies. Bappebti’s move signals that the Indonesian cryptocurrency industry is now entering the “early phases of regulation” from a government that has hitherto resisted attempts at recognizing crypto as a legitimate financial tool.

Partner Session - The Value of Distributed Ledger Technology
Speaker: to be advised
About Session: For the past few years, financial institutions have been investing in blockchain technology with the idea that it could reduce the cost and complexity of many of its processes, ranging from payments and settlements to tracking shareholder assets. Much discussion has focused on cryptocurrencies, rather than the underlying blockchain technology which has the potential to reshape the investment industry, offering significant opportunities as well as generating potential risks to system stability. Blockchain could facilitate secure decentralised transactions, reduce incidents of fraud, and increase transparency and efficiency in multi-party transactions.
Developing a Blockchain Ecosystem
Speaker: Peter Lim - CEO, PLMP Fintech
About Session: The future for blockchain in eCommerce is a bright one, after all, blockchains are designed for storing transactional data securely. This storage can go way beyond financial information and can pertain to any action that requires an immutable record. One of the biggest perks for blockchain within eCommerce is the efficiency of its rapid transactions. Because of the single network, blockchain transactions greatly reduce the need, if there’s any at all, for intermediaries while processing payments.

Five Reasons Why the Tokenization of Securities Shall Prevail
Speaker: Dr Zlatin Sarastov - Chief Financial Officer, Blueshare.io
About Session: Savings, elimination of middlemen, improvement of access to capital and opportunities while complying with regulation through regtech are just some of the reasons why financial instruments, markets and trading will be entirely on the blockchain in less than five years. These drivers are merciless and status quo will resist but not last.
Partner Session - Leveraging the Transformational Power of Blockchain
Speaker: to be advised
About Session: There has been increasing interest in the transformative power of not only crypto-currencies like Bitcoin, but also the technology underlying them—namely blockchain. However, the legal literature has largely ignored the rise of blockchain technology outside of its finance, securities, and copyright implications.
Leveraging the transformational power of blockchain and the emerging public blockchain platforms to make practical, real-world solutions for everyone.
How Blockchain will Change the Future of Financial Service Sector
Speaker: To be advised
About Session: The present financial system is very complex and that complexity creates risks. A new decentralised blockchain financial system made possible with the use of cryptocurrencies could be much simpler by removing layers of intermediation. This could help increase cooperation between banks and engrave trust & integrity at the core of the new blockchain financial system. Furthermore the opportunity to reduce systemic risk will emerge by moving towards a tamper-proof decentralised public/private ledgers where a single version of the truth will triumph.

When we think about the potential of blockchain, it’s important to take a global perspective. Our banking system, government machinery and legal system; all have their inequities. But Blockchain has the potential to improve these institutions — to make them faster, cheaper, more efficient. The real transformational potential of blockchain is for countries where the democratic, financial, and legal institutions either don’t exist, are corrupt, or are inaccessible to a large section of the population.
This international panel of experts will give their viewpoint on how blockchain is transforming our businesses and our world.
